Intercultural Ministries

Reaching out with God’s love to a population as diverse as the population of Southern California presents the Church with tremendous challenges. The 2000 census revealed that California is the first big state with no racial majority. Non-Hispanic whites comprise only 46.7% of the population with Hispanics accounting for 32.4%. Asians account for 10.9% of the population, African Americans account for 6.7%, and the balance is made up of almost every other nationality under the sun.

Looking at our population from a different perspective, over one in four (26.2%) of the residents here in California were born outside the United States.

The Intercultural Ministries Department exists to facilitate ministry to all of the non-Anglo, non-Hispanic people groups living here. Due to the changing demographics of Southern California, it is crucial that we reach out to the people who are joining us here from all over the world with the Gospel. The future of our country is at stake!
