Soda Pop Out! For Missions

SoCal Kids

A Word from Robin:

Leaders and Friends,

What a super way to kick off a year of ministry, with the giant KidMin party that was Power Up. We were able to train and inspire nearly 900 people in one day and had a great time doing it. Thank you for investing in your ministry team and letting us have the joy of doing that with you.

I announced some BIG wins at Power Up. Here’s some great things to remember:

  • Because YOU gave through BGMC in 2011, SoCal Kids (12% of your BGMC giving) zoomed out and blessed these frontline SoCal Kids Ministries:

    • Julian and Gracie Toriz and Metro Kidz
    • Pastor Nathan Kollar and Clarity Church in Santa Monica
    • Pastor Jason Fuller and Action Community Church in Fresno
    • Missionary JoAnn Riley, CORD Ministries
    • SoCal Kids Camps
    • Plus the 88% that goes around the world shouting out Jesus love through compassion and spoken word – thank you!!!

  • $54,662.84 was given by SoCal churches through the Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge in 2011. While this may sound great, SoCal can do so much more. Don’t rip off your Kids Ministries and church by not allowing your children to bless others. It’s a God -idea that He definitely honors. BGMC may not be the only way to educate your kids in missions and generous obedience, but it truly is a great one. Plus, remember when a church gives once to BGMC, you receive free missions education curriculum. Here’s how you get started…

    • Go to bgmc.ag.org. There are MANY resources to help you get started.
    • Go to gospelpublishing.com to get the free resource catalog and free Buddy Barrels or boxes. Email gph@ag.org or call 1-800-641-4310
    • Pray and set a goal for a year’s giving. Tell your kids and church family.
    • Feature missions and BGMC in your Kids Church and/or mid-week clubs once a month. Use a consistent Sunday or Wednesday (like first of the month) so the kids/families can start a habit of missions giving.
    • Tell a missions story (see BGMC website) and pass out barrels or boxes.
    • Remind the kids (try an announcement in Kids Church and/or big church, all-church bulletin or FaceBook message to your kids group page) when to bring their barrels.
    • Ask your church secretary or treasurer to mail the kids offerings monthly or quarterly through
    • SoCal Kids (ZOOM), 17951 Cowan, Irvine CA, 92614
    • OR BGMC, 1445 N. Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO 65802
    • Have a giving contest to make it fun. How about you get slimed if the kids hit their goal?
    • Keep it going! Coins carry the good news of Christ’s compassion all around the world. Together we can do this!
