Nonda Houston

New Women’s Ministries Director

Nonda Houston is passionate about ministry to women – seeing lives redeemed by the power of God and set on coarse for what they were destined to be. Placing value on people and encouraging them to be the unique person God has created is powerful. Loving God and loving people is her great joy.

Nonda and Gordon have been married for 26 years and have four children: Gordie, married to Cynthia, is the Worship Pastor at San Jacinto Assembly of God; Josh, married to Sara, is Youth Pastor at Palomar Heights Assembly; Scott is a communications major and sophomore at VU; and Angelique is a junior in high school. An important member of their family is Maggie, a yellow Labrador, that they are crazy about. Nonda loves baking, tacos, traveling and spending time with her family.

The Houstons have been in ministry together since before they were married. Most of those years were at San Jacinto, where they pastored for 22 years. Nonda and Gordon have always shared a partnership in ministry life. As their children got older, more of her time was available for ministry. Credentialed in 2005, Nonda served full time at SJA overseeing women, prayer, single moms, Celebrate Recovery, and missions trips.

Ministry highlights included:

  • Women's Conferences and Bible Studies
  • Women's Mentoring Program and Leadership training
  • Monthly outreach at local Women's Recovery home
  • National Day of Prayer Regional Director
  • San Jacinto Valley All-Church Prayer Leader
  • Weekly prayer guide for church, including community, government, school and business leaders, international ministries and pastors.
“The more I am involved in ministry life,” Nonda says, “the more passionate I become about serving the Lord. What an amazing time we are living in! The more grave the world conditions grow, the brighter the light of Jesus and His church will shine. Ministry life is challenging, but I wouldn't want to do anything else...ever!”

Welcome, Nonda, to the team as Women’s Ministries’ Director!
